Welcome!

My name is Zebetta King, and I am the Academically Gifted (AG) Resource Teacher at Swift Creek Elementary School.   At Swift Creek, we offer an array of services for students in kindergarten through the fifth grade. Services vary with grade levels.

K-2   The K-2 Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) Academically Gifted Program provides consultative services to facilitate further enhancement and differentiated learning experiences in the regular classroom.  Students in K-2 are not usually formally identified, but students may be screened based on their characteristics of giftedness.   Click here to view the K-2 page for more details.

Grade 3   The WCPSS Academically Gifted Program plan includes a unique component for the third grade.  I work in partnership with the third grade teachers to provide a variety of in-class experiences designed to elicit high academic performance.  Students who demonstrate potential in these activities will receive extension activities in mathematics and language arts.  Click here to view Grade 3  for more details.

Grade 4-5  Services for identified fourth and fifth grade students include differentiation within the general education setting.  Appropriate options, such as curriculum compacting and a variety of extension activities, are matched to an individual student's need for differentiation.  In addition, students identified with strong or very strong needs for differentiation may receive services in resources classes.  Click her to view the Grade 4 and Grade 5 for more details.
